country - Italy Release date - 2017 Duration - 2 h, 12 m CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, the new film by Luca Guadagnino, is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the acclaimed novel by André Aciman. It's the summer of 1983 in the north of Italy, and Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet), a precocious 17-year-old young man, spends his days in his family's 17th-century villa transcribing and playing classical music, reading, and flirting with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel). Elio enjoys a close relationship with his father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an eminent professor specializing in Greco-Roman culture, and his mother Annella (Amira Casar), a translator, who favor him with the fruits of high culture in a setting that overflows with natural delights. While Elio's sophistication and intellectual gifts suggest he is already a fully-fledged adult, there is much that yet remains innocent and unformed about him, particularly about matters of the heart. One day, Oliver (Armie Hammer), a 24-year-old American college graduate student working on his doctorate, arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio's father. Amid the sun-drenched splendor of the setting, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever André Aciman

100% by far one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen, the emotions I felt will remain with me for the rest of my life. Your comment about obstacles these two character should face troubles me, especially in the comparison to Moonlight. Why does there need to be obstacles? As an lgbtq person, this is the first movie where being lgbtq comes with no obstacles. The conflict presented isn't tangible. For once, the conflict isn't society, parents, self worth, or anything that we get to see, it is time. For once, a portrayal of lgbtq people in our world were treated as just people, a small slice of life where them being lgbtq is not an issue. There is no tangible conflict or obstacle these characters face because there shouldn't be, because they are just two people who are alive with time not on their side. As for your comparison to Moonlight, the two movies don't share similar themes. Moonlight deals with masculinity, identity/self worth, race, and the dynamics of poor disenfranchised communities. This movie deals with our relationship with time, obsession, and friendship. They don't share similar themes, they both just have lgbtq people in them. That doesn't make their experiences the same, and both movies showcase a completely different life, character, and thematic message.

I want both of them on the Ellen show

2:17 Timmy looked so proud he wanted to cry eDiT: wOw i dIdNt eXpEcT sO mAnY lIkEs tHaNk yOu sO mUcH. The most beautiful way to say I love you... These two make a beautiful gay couple. Not only is harry styles in this but I also love a good, realistic war movie, this is one of my all time favorite movies and I always come back to watch it.

This is one the one with harry styles in

0:14 imagine Armie's voice runs, trembles against Timothee's throat. Sigh.

This review is an epitome of butchering a beautiful, emotional picture

So so much freaking chemistry! It almost seems like they're actually in love with each other! Makes me wish that they were both gay and single. “You know what things”. i chuckled when he said that. He sounds so mischievous. No comparison to 'moonlight. I didn't even think the characters were even necessarily gay, that's what's magic for me, it's a film we can all relate to and so incredibly beautiful. Every scene is a still to savour. I personally felt like I was in Elio's shoes when he answered the phone. I literally said I miss you in my mind just before he did, and it shook me to the core.

First of all, I want to say "Call Me By Your Name" is absolutely one of the best film in 2017. The story is about a 17-year-old boy fell in love with a 23-year-old student. The screenplay writer and the director are genius. They tell the story in a romantic way that won't make you feel uncomfortable.

Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, aka Elio and Oliver, did a great job in this film. They acted so great that you'll probably forget both of them are heterosexual. The way they talk and get along together is full of love naturally. The last scene is heart-breaking.

Last but not the least, the background music and the theme song "Mystery Of Love" is awesome as well.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Do a more perfect couuple exist. armie n tim are so in sync.

The second time i watched this movie i scribbled in my journal this scenes whole conversation and i didnt regret doing it.

This scene alone deserves him any award, The happiness (Oliver called) surprise (about the engagement) inner anger (about the marriage) subtle pleading (when he told Oliver the his parents knows about them sort of What about us) and longing(calling Oliver by his own name)convey so well, This is THE SCENE that will end all scene.
